Willow

2017 July - 2018 February

5 weeks early and 4 hours in to Mummy's maternity leave Willow decided it was time to make her appearance. 27 hours later she was born through emergency C-section.

She weighed a tiny 3lb 13oz and had an extra thumb, our own little superhero.

5 weeks in hospital trying to sustain her calcium levels, keep her feed down, regulate her breathing and increase her weight, we were finally able to take her home.

2 weeks passed with more hospital visits for transfusions and we were back in again permanently for more tests. Blood tests, MRI's, ECG's, eye tests, x-rays and bone marrow test.

After being in for a further 3 weeks we were let home with regular visits for blood tests and transfusions. We were then given your diagnosis, Osteopetrosis, Marble Bone, Albers-Schönberg. The only cure, a stem cell transplant.

We were home for 1 and a half months before we were back in again for more of the same tests, fitting her central line and eventually her transplant on the 12/12/17.

Willow was doing well until she contracted a virus called Adenovirus and eventually her liver shut down.

She passed away on the 05/02/2018.
